When Life Changes, Your Financial Needs Change Too
Who We Typically Work With
Most clients come to us when the future feels uncertain or too complex to manage alone. And where working with a big-firm financial advisor feels rushed, too large, and like it doesn’t fit.
Moorgate’s clients have already done well for themselves; they’ve shown up for themselves and everyone else in life, and they’ve handled every challenge thrown at them. They come to us for financial guidance when life gets more complex than their current structure can handle.
This often looks like:
Becoming solely responsible for finances after divorce or loss
Juggling retirement planning, college costs, and housing decisions all at once
Managing employer stock grant vesting, bonuses, and equity awards without a coherent strategy
Wanting to work less but needing the analysis to feel safe doing it
Realizing they need coaching to create a financial approach
Why The Moorgate Approach Is Different
We work with no more than fifteen clients in active management at a time, because when life is changing, you need someone who truly knows you.
We’re also different because of what we don’t have: layers of overhead, sales teams, quotas, or commissioned products. By keeping our client base intentionally small, we’re able to price our work fairly—reflecting the depth of our expertise without the fees associated with large advisory firms. You receive deep expertise and high-touch guidance without carrying the cost of a large institution behind it. And simply put, we enjoy this work and feel lucky to do it with and for others.
The Approach
We believe investment management and advisement on strategic use of capital should feel less like a transaction and more like a structured path to your future. Every engagement begins with your story and understanding your demands - how you got here, where the tension is, and what you want the next chapter to look like. From there, Andrew works with clients in one of three ways, depending on what’s actually needed:
Asset Management: Some clients come to Andrew primarily for disciplined, professional investment management. His investment approach evolves beyond traditional “buy-and-hold” by strategically integrating derivative instruments to enhance yield and provide protection. This results in portfolios designed to defend on the downside while capturing meaningful upside: a balanced approach to meet or exceed client stated objectives over multiple market cycles while keeping clients anchored and secure. And because life (and the market) never moves in a straight line, he revisits, recalibrates, and adjusts daily, so clients never have to make major decisions alone.*
Guidance & Advisory: Other clients don’t need or want full asset management. They come for guidance on retirement or legacy modeling, equity compensation, tax-aware decisions, cash flow planning, timing major life moves, family-office management or navigating transitions that don’t fit neatly into a spreadsheet. The work is strategic, consultative, and designed to bring clarity.
Integrated / Hybrid: Often clients benefit from a blended relationship that combines investment management with ongoing advisory support. Because capital allocation and life events don’t move in parallel, this allows planning and execution to stay fully aligned to clients strategy. Andrew constantly revisits, recalibrates, and adjusts as markets and circumstances evolve. Clients aren’t expected to time decisions perfectly or navigate change alone, they have a partner who stays engaged as the picture shifts.
